Then you will visit Pompey Pillar that dates back to the second century & built by king Pastimous as a memorial for the emperor Qastentine who forgave the people of Alexandria after they protested against him & after the siege of the city thay suffered from hunger that why he distributed corn for them because the hunger that they suffered from it but it has called Pompey's Pillar because the crusaders though that Pompey the roman leader head was hang on its top after he escaped from Rome to EGYPT during his struggle against Yullus Ceaser while King Petlomy the 13th ally of Yullus Ceaser had killed Pompey to Satisfy his friend Yullus and hang his head on the pillar top that why many people named it Pompi pillar while the pillar was built on the rooftop of El Serapeum temple of God Apis the Greek God of healing according to the greeks thoughts .
Then we proceed to see the Qaitbey Citadel which was built on the site of the ancient pharaohs (lighthouse) of Alexandria, its powerful fortress built by the Mumluk king Al-Ashraf Qaitbay to defend Egypt borders from the north & by the sea & it has fallen off in the hand of the French then the British because the garrison were used the traditional weapons as arches , spears and swords while the foreign fleet were used gunners and guns more developed weapons it was built in the 15th century and built of limestone but the granite that decorated the castle was taken from the light house remains also It has watching towers of the Garrison that overlooking on the sea and It has panoramic beautiful view of the sea for great photos then having lunch .
Then drive you to Bibliotheca Alexandria dates back to the second century built by king Ptolemy the first & completed by Ptolemy the second but the original one had burnt during the struggle between Ptolemy the thirteen & Jealous Ceaser the roman leader and this one built in 2003 in the days of our president Mubarak and the original library considered the first one established in history.
Then the Roman Theater that it discovered in 1960 AD & discovered by the Polish expedition mession after workers had found it by chance when they were in a mission of removing and clearing the debris of some of the governmental buildings that leaded to descover the first step of the theatre , It dates back to the 4th century Bc , and It consisted of 13 rows of lime stone and granite . then you will be back to Cairo .
